More than 25 years ago, a brand came to Israel offering something that did not exist here yet: beautiful nails that do not come at the expense of the natural nail. With it came a whole way of seeing things.

Since then, everything we do starts with the same question: what is good for the nail, and only then what looks good on it. That is why we work without filing down the natural nail, with products that have passed international clinical testing and are approved by the Ministry of Health, and with full transparency about every ingredient. The nail is a living part of the body, and we treat it that way.

Over the years our college has become home to a whole generation of nail professionals. Every graduate leaves with an international certificate, and with what is harder to measure: a deep understanding of the nail, a confident hand and a sense of responsibility towards the client sitting in front of her. Classes take place at our national training centre in Haifa and in the digital course, and our training team keeps studying in Israel and abroad.

To our private customers we bring the very same products our technicians work with, with the same care, right to their door.

And our support does not end on graduation day. BIO technicians stay part of a professional community that keeps learning, shares advice and grows together, because excellence is not a single moment. It is a habit.

Orlit grew up in a seafaring family and sailed boats with the Sea Scouts as a child. After the army she studied marine engineering and built a senior career in shipping, in the male world of ship repair at the Israel Shipyards.

In her forties, while studying abroad, she discovered the world of beauty. In the heart of the African desert she came across a product unlike anything she had seen in the nail market: a gel built around the health of the natural nail. She left a successful career and started over with a single mission: to show nail professionals that building nails does not have to mean destroying them.

In 2000 she brought BIO Sculpture to Israel, and she has led the brand, the college and the community of technicians that grew around it ever since. Over the years she has appeared on television health programmes as a nail expert, and she has stayed true to the same principle: fewer chemicals, more health and respect for the natural nail.

Since childhood, Elmien was fascinated by beautiful nails, and that fascination became her passion. After completing her studies at the CIDESCO Beauty Academy, she opened her first salon. Unable to find nail care products of the quality she was looking for, she continued her studies in the USA in artificial nail systems, and concluded that if she wanted a product that met every requirement, she would have to develop it from the ground up.

Her goal was not only beautiful nails, but healthy nails too. By consulting leading scientists and applying the latest technologies, BIO Sculpture Gel was born: from a humble beginning, with passion, hard work and the faith of a true pioneer. Today it is the leading nail care solution.

The BIO Sculpture head office is in the heart of South Africa, in the small town of Clocolan. The 3,000 m² factory is an environmentally friendly building with regulated ventilation systems, self-sufficient water storage and maximum use of natural light. It is ISO 22716 certified for Good Manufacturing Practices and managed under ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

And the warmth of BIO Sculpture does not stay within the factory walls. It reaches the whole BIO Sculpture family around the world, here too.

    Elmien Scholtz develops a gel system built around nail health. To this day every product is made at the brand's factory in Clocolan.
